About Parksville Qualicum Beach

Located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, 37 kilometres north of Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum Beach together form one of the island’s most popular destinations. The area is known across Canada for its warm, shallow beaches — in summer, the tidal flats at Parksville Bay can reach some of the warmest saltwater temperatures in the country. The annual Parksville Beachfest sandcastle competition, running since 1982, is the only World Championship Sand Sculpting qualifying event in Canada.
