RDN – 911 Grant Funding

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN), in partnership with the District of Lantzville, is pleased to announce a $163,326 grant from the Government of British Columbia’s 2025 Next Generation 911 (NG911) funding program. Of the funding, $100,000 will be allocated to six fire departments funded and operated by the RDN. The remaining $63,326 will be allocated to the District of Lantzville. The funding, which is through the Province’s Ministry of Citizens’ Services, supports the purchase and installation of up to 15 Mobile Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) units, also known as Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs), as well as the accompanying docking stations and cellular boosters in fire department vehicles.
