District of Nanaimo is in receipt of a Zoning Amendment application respecting 5600 Island Highway West in Electoral Area H. The applicant proposes to amend “Regional District of Nanaimo Zoning Bylaw No 2500, 2024” by re-zoning the subject property from Residential 2 (RS2) Zone, Subdivision District ‘M’, to the proposed Mixed Use (MU1) Zone, Subdivision District ‘M’, to facilitate a mixed-use zone to permit commercial and residential development. The applicant’s intention is to develop a mini-storage facility and multi-unit residential building.
